Legendary rock band, BOSTON, whose 1976 debut became the best-selling in rock history, will bring their Heaven on Earth Tour to Allen Event Center on June 18, 2014. BOSTON will be joined by the multi-platinum selling and Grammy award-winning Doobie Brothers on a jam-packed double rock bill.
Tickets for BOSTON & The Doobie Brothers will go on sale Friday, March 7, at 10 a.m. through ticketmaster.com, charge by phone at 800.745.3000 or at the Allen Event Center box office: 200 E. Stacy Road #1350 Allen, TX 75002.
An exclusive North Texas date in June of 2014 for Boston, a band that has sold more than 30 million albums, is historically speaking, HUGE. Consider the band headlined the Texxas Jam in June of 1979. Eight years later they would return in June of 1987 to play to a record-setting 82,000 fans in 96 degree heat at the Cotton Bowl during the Texxas Jam’s decennial celebration.
From the Cotton Bowl to Madison Square Garden where they made their New York debut playing three consecutive sold-out nights in the late ‘70s, Boston has played many of the biggest stages. But that famously lush, guitar-driven, good time rock ‘n’ roll sound will sound even sweeter in a setting as intimate as Allen Event Center.
With a set list of such classic rock staples as “More than a Feeling,” “Smokin’,” “Peace of Mind” and “Long Time” Boston may very well take you back to the days of the Texxas Jam… minus the sweltering temperatures of course. Hello, air conditioning!
And hello tremendous rock and roll double billing. The Doobie Brothers have tallied three multi-platinum, seven platinum and 14 gold albums while scoring five top 10 singles and 16 top 40 hits. “Jesus Is Just All Right,” “Rockin’ Down the Highway,” “Long Train Runnin’,” “China Grove,” and “Takin’ it to the Streets” continue to be fixtures on radio formats from top 40 to classic rock and everything in between.
Opening for The Doobie Brothers will be solo artist Pat Simmons Jr. Pat Simmons Jr. is multi-instrumentalist from Maui who's music is a teapot of activism and cultural teachings, invoking Aloha spirit with an open heart.
