[ARCHIVED] ACIR Phased Reopening Now Underway

Allen Community Ice Rink (ACIR) has begun its phased reopening.* 

Phase One: June 8-13 

ACIR will be open for the following programs:

Figure Skating Freestyle, Youth & Adult Stick-Time, Adult Hockey Skills Class and Specialty Youth Hockey Classes

Phase Two: June 14–20 

ACIR will add the following programs:

Figure Skating Freestyle Summer Camp, Completion of Youth Fall Hockey League, Adult Hockey League play, Private Rentals 

Phase Three: June 21-27

ACIR will add the following programs:

Youth Hockey 3x3 League will begin as well as limited Open Skate times.

*Program schedules may change or be canceled with limited notice due to changes in Federal and State health regulations.

To ensure the safety of our community, ACIR is adding additional daily and weekly sanitization measures.

  • The front desk will have a safety shield placed between the staff and patrons.
  • City of Allen employees will be required to wear a mask or stay behind the safety shield. ACIR encourages the public and coaches to also wear a mask. 
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at the entrance and front desk areas.
  • ACIR staff will clean and disinfect high traffic areas throughout the day that include but are not limited to: railings, benches, bathrooms, equipment and doors. Extra time will be allotted between events for staff and coaches to clean and disinfect these areas and items.
  • ACIR will be cleaned and disinfected daily before opening and after closing.
  • Fogging will take place after closing on two days of the week during the Texas Open Phases Two and Three.

What to expect when entering ACIR:

  • We ask that patrons use the marked doors for Entrance when entering and use the Exit doors when leaving.
  • The vending machines will not be in use during Phase Two or Three of Texas Open Phases.
  • Chairs will be spread out around the rink at a six-foot distance; we ask that they not be moved out of place. 
  • Locker rooms will be in limited use and cleaned before and after use.
  • Showers will not be in use immediately.
  • We ask hockey participants to come dressed.
  • Water fountains will be shut off; please bring your own water.

No fliers or calendars will be posted in the building; they will be available online.
